When the Bible says, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus,” (Philippians 4:19) the underlying meaning of the words “every need of yours” refer both to the physical and spiritual needs of people. At Impact A Life, we get to follow in the footsteps of Jesus because it is a holistic ministry - one that not only serves the spiritual needs of people in India and Sierra Leone but also the physical needs.

ILF is able to help meet these needs because of God’s grace and your financial support. Twice a year, we host fundraising events, simply entitled MIRACLE because it is clear that God uses ILF for many miracles, small and large, through the generous contributions made by our donor base. Our upcoming MIRACLE fundraiser in Boise, Idaho takes place on April 26. Even if you cannot physically attend, you can donate both through the event page and directly on the ILF website.

These fundraisers give ILF and the teams in India and Africa the ability to further their missions in ways far beyond what we can imagine; but nothing is too big for God's imagination! Through the fall 2024 fundraiser in Boise and spring 2025 gala in Bellevue, many physical needs have been met for our teams across the globe, all of which have multiplicative impacts on the people we serve, furthering the kingdom work.

• Extension of the bridge between Mankneh and Mamanso villages in Sierra Leone to enable safe travel in the rainy season
• Greater capacity to train pastors and leaders - 100 to now 120
• Resources to serve a larger number of widows through the “Beauty for Ashes” program - 100 to now 150
• More accessible connection between ILF team members through Starlink
• 5 buffalo added to the “Got Milk” herd in India to build economic stability in the community there
• New living quarters for teachers in Africa

Each of these physical needs came through generous contributions from the recent fundraisers and it’s clear that God is not done yet!

Continuing contributions provide a huge impact!  For just $30 per month, a child can receive education, healthcare, nutrition, and hygiene services. Less than one week ago, our team of eight volunteers and ILF board members returned from Sierra Leone.  We asked you to pray – for safety, for wisdom, for clear understanding of God’ purposes for this trip – and you did.  Not only that, but you invited others to pray.  We had hundreds of people intentionally praying for this trip! The result?  The most spiritually powerful we have ever experienced.  God clearly moved in the hearts of the team and those we met along the way.

• Star Link is installed and already connecting local leaders with board members in the US!
• New communities were reached with the gospel!
• We witnessed nearly 100 salvations!
• Everyone on the trip stayed healthy and safe!

God had an unmistakable path for our team on this trip.  We could see it and follow it with confidence because of the widespread covering of prayer from you, our supporters.

As we reflect with gratitude on all that God did through Impact a Life Foundation in 2025, we’re excited to begin 2026 with a Vision Trip to Sierra Leone!  In just a couple of weeks, a team of eight—four board members and four volunteers—will be leaving for Sierra Leone to engage with the communities we serve there. God’s faithful presence and your steadfast partnership have shaped our work across India and Africa in ways both visible and deeply personal. This year your generosity became tangible hope. Because of you we were able to:

• feed school meals to children who would otherwise go hungry
• deliver emergency relief to families affected by floods in India and Africa
• provide life-saving medical and health care to communities
• restore dignity and safety for widows and battered women in India.
• support sustainable living through ILF’s “Got Milk” project in India and rice farming in Africa

These are not just programs to fund — they are mothers who can feed their children, students who return to classrooms with renewed hope, and partner clinics who able to care for the sick. Your prayers, gifts, and encouragement join with ours to bring the holistic love of Christ into real lives. 99.8% of proceeds will go directly to ILF‑sponsored projects to deepen and sustain this work where it is needed most.

This morning, I was reading Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This verse struck me, especially in light of recent events at Impact a Life. It’s a powerful reminder that nothing is random in God’s kingdom—He is always at work, weaving together every detail for His glory.

One area God is working for the good of ILF is technology - and not just in capturing images with drones like in the picture above.  While there are plenty of examples of abundant and accessible technology being used in negative ways, it’s incredible to see how technology, people, and timing have converged as part of God’s indescribable plan for Impact a Life.

• Child Sponsorship: Our board is exploring new ways to strengthen the connection between sponsored children and the families who support them, implementing new internal systems to enhance engagement within our Child Sponsorship program. In 2026, we plan to extend these tools to our teams on the ground, helping us serve communities more effectively.
• Behind the Scenes: Fast, reliable connection to leaders between continents allows for whole team relationship. Whether it’s addressing needs in real time or sharing encouragement that can be passed from leaders to teams to those they disciple, distance is no longer a barrier with today’s communication technology.
• Social Media:  From Facebook to Instagram to the reading of this very blog, technology means anyone can have front-row access to real stories, real impact, and real ways to be part of the mission—no passport required.
• Solar Panels: According to UNOPS.org, “Only 36 per cent of the population [of Sierra Leone] has access to electricity, and just six per cent in rural areas. This limited access impacts healthcare, education and job creation.” Providing a reliable source of power helps leaders in Sierra Leone meet everyday needs and support local work and wellbeing.

Another area God is working for the good of ILF is the growth of our board!  We had the opportunity to welcome Amy Imes onto the Impact a Life board this month. This was not a “chance” encounter or something that we could design on our own. Amy’s heart to serve through church, education, and in service to a cause greater than her started very early in her life and God has brought her into this ministry for a purpose. Amy will be focusing on child sponsorship, women’s ministry, and educational programs—areas where her experience and passion shine. We’re excited to see how God will use her gifts to deepen our impact and reach more lives.

What started as a simple weeklong camp in Mankneh, Sierra Leone—giving kids the chance to learn and enjoy soccer—has grown into something so much bigger. This October marks the six-year anniversary of ILF FC!  Today, ILF FC trains roughly 50 players, from early elementary through 8th grade. But it’s more than just soccer practice. Each session begins with prayer, reminding players that their true hope and strength comes from Jesus. On the field, kids are learning how to play the game, but also how to live out values like faith, teamwork, perseverance and community service.

Launched in 2022, the ILF FC Community Service Program gives players the opportunity to serve their communities throughout the year. At the end of their 12-months of service, those who have faithfully participated in the program are eligible to receive a brand-new pair of cleats—a gift that’s both exciting and meaningful. In just three years, nearly 110 pairs of cleats have been earned!  This program doesn’t just bless the communities being served—it also shapes the players, giving them hands-on ways to help their community and become service oriented leaders who reflect Christ’s love in everyday life.

This summer, the kids at The Mission Church in Issaquah, Washington, raised $230 at their own soccer camp to help provide much needed equipment for players in Sierra Leone. What a beautiful picture of children on opposite sides of the world coming together through the game of soccer to make a difference!  Thank you!

As we step into a new school year this fall, our hearts are filled with gratitude for all God has done and is yet to do through ILF educational programs.  Each one of these children is a story of hope, and you are part of their story. Without your prayers and generosity, this would not be possible.

According to UNICEF, “Access to education and marketable skills remains a challenge for children in Sierra Leone.” ILF seeks to empower children with access to education, and we are excited for 35 little ones who are beginning their education in the nursery, 152 children are continuing to grow in our primary schools, and 40 students are moving forward in secondary school.

Children from rural and disadvantaged populations face challenges in accessing quality, equitable education across India as well (UNICEF).  In response, ILF’s partnerships in the community are equipping students to learn. We are celebrating over 100 students in India beginning a new school year, who receive support through partnership with ILF.

In Jeremiah 29:11 God promises this: “For I know the plans I have for you…plans to give you hope and a future.” Your partnership plays an impactful role in those plans unfolding, through empowering teachers, supporting faithful staff, and providing safe, caring spaces where children can learn and grow.  Thank you for standing with us. You are not only providing education, you are also planting seeds of faith, joy, and future leadership that will impact generations in their communities and countries. Over the past couple of years, Impact A Life Foundation has partnered with local ministries in southern India, walking alongside under-resourced communities, sharing the love of Jesus, and witnessing hope in action. I recently returned from India—but it was more than a trip; it was a spiritual pilgrimage.  I witnessed how God is working through ILF and our ministry partners to meet both the humanitarian and spiritual needs of these precious communities.

I stood among the women, once widowed, outcast, and battered, now radiant with resilience and purpose. Though we didn’t share a spoken language, we connected through the language of grace and gratitude.

I visited ILF’s dairy farm project where I met local families who now have a sustainable living and, with that, a renewed hope. This project is more than milk, it’s nourishment for bodies, dignity of providing for a family, and a testament to God’s provision.

From the widows with newfound hope to the joy in the face of the students riding on their brand-new bikes, or the gratitude in the faces of flood victims during the monsoon season, every moment whispered the same truth: God’s love moves through us when we are “doers of the word, and not hearers only”. (James 1:22)

Practical acts of compassion which YOU, our kind-hearted supporters are an integral part of, don’t just fund projects, they fuel transformation. In every home rebuilt, every life uplifted, the whisper of Jesus’ love is heard, and the fingerprints of your care are felt.

If I left India with anything, it was this: I didn’t just see the hands of Christ. I felt them.

Reflecting on this past month, the verse that immediately came to mind is Matthew 19:26 - “But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible’”.  

In the month of May, we held our inaugural MIRACLE fundraiser at the Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club in Bellevue, Washington. This event was nothing short of a MIRACLE on all fronts, including the nearly $150,000 that was raised by 112 generous donors who attended. 100% of these proceeds will go towards the ministry. Start to finish, MIRACLE took shape in under 3 months - which many said couldn’t be done - further demonstrating that with God all things are possible.

As we step into the second half of 2025, we’re excited to put these funds into action across India and Sierra Leone - advancing infrastructure upgrades, enhancing sustainable farming, expanding ILF’s programs, and so much more!  Our prayer is that the impact will be felt for generations.

We invite you to pray with us, trusting God to take the MIRACLE 2025 funds to new heights through the dedication of our teams. What may seem impossible to us is always within reach for Him. With God, all things are possible!

In February, six volunteers joined the ILF board on a relational mission to Sierra Leone.  God moved in and through the team in a beautiful way. We witnessed salvations, baptisms, and engaging teachings. We witnessed volunteers meeting their sponsored children, intimate moments between believers and new friends, and powerful movements of prayer. The team laughed, played and learned about the local culture from the local ILF team and community members. Most importantly, Jesus was displayed in a powerful way through the relationships forged and built in just a few days together.

In reflecting on the visit, Namisa, ILF’s local nurse, stated, “it is amazing they would leave their homes to come here and think of us. I can tell they love us….that God loves us through them.”

We are so excited to share that from February 18–27, ILF’s Board of Directors and six dedicated volunteers, will embark on a life-changing journey to Mankneh, Sierra Leone! This trip is an incredible opportunity to engage directly with the local community, sharing the love of Jesus through meaningful connections.

While in Mankneh, our team will:

• Connect with the Local Community: Build relationships by being present, listening, and sharing life with the people of Mankneh and Mamanso.
• Serve Through Sports Ministry: Partner with ILF FC to engage young lives through soccer, demonstrating God’s love.
• Train Leaders: Empower local leaders with tools and encouragement to grow in faith and influence.
• Introduce the NEW ILF App: Train local leaders and community members on using the new app for growth, connection, and discipleship.
• Celebrate Baptism: Witness and participate in baptisms for community members ready to declare their faith in Jesus. Praise God!

This trip is about mutual transformation under God’s love, not just about what we bring.  We are eager to witness how God will move in the hearts of our team and the lives of the community members we encounter.  We humbly ask for your prayers as we make this journey.  Thank you for being such a vital part of Impact a Life Foundation!  We look forward to sharing the stories of this trip and the ways that God moved upon our return!

From partnering with Brenda Hospital to achieve hundreds of life-saving surgeries and serving over 70,000 free meals in Africa, to sharing God's love with widows and battered women in India, to supporting underground churches and witnessing many salvations, 2024 was a rewarding year full of meaningful milestones for ILF.

Entering 2025, it is comforting to know that Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. John 15 serves as a constant reminder to stay focused on who Christ is in us and His vision for us.  As we seek God's presence in all our projects, we are excited to embrace His evolving vision for 2025: to ENGAGE, EQUIP, and EMPOWER the communities we are called to SERVE.

“Mama Salone Harvest” Project: Africa
Sierra Leonians call their country “Mama Salone, the Land that We Love”, inspiring the name for this project.  The Mama Salone Harvest Project utilizes advanced cassava and potato processing equipment, allowing the local farmers to increase efficiency, boost income, and promote sustainability. This is an opportunity for ILF to share God's love and compassion with the local community, bridging evangelism and social action.

Child Sponsorship Program Expansion: India
In October 2024, ILF launched a new and improved child sponsorship platform. We are thrilled to expand our efforts to foster meaningful relationships between children and loving sponsors in both Africa and India, starting in spring 2025.

New ILF Mobile App: USA
Development of ILF’s mobile app is nearly finished!  This app will address both the need for accessible resources for like-minded ministries and the need for a central communication platform to EQUIP, ENGAGE, EMPOWER, and SERVE our team on the ground. We hope this new tool will help us streamline our ministry communication around the globe.

Got Milk Project: India
Our dairy farm development project, which began in early 2024, aims to provide a renewable source of income for our ILF community in India. We are excited to witness this project coming to fruition and anticipate starting production by late spring 2025. 

Beauty for Ashes Program Outreach: India
Fueled by a deep desire to share God’s love, Beauty for Ashes started in 2024 to meet the needs of widows suffering in Southern India.  It is now a sanctuary to protect and EMPOWER local widows and battered women. In 2025, we hope Beauty for Ashes will become an outreach tool. Program members, along with ILF’s spiritual leaders, will inspire other impacted and distressed women in their communities to embrace their new identity in Christ and break free from toxic environments.

Spring Fundraiser: USA
ILF will host a semi-annual fundraiser in May. This intimate event will share God's story and presence, inviting attendees to embrace our mission in the communities we serve.  Stay tuned for more details!

As we reflect on God's unwavering presence in 2024, we are grateful for His amazing grace and the vision He has provided through Impact A Life foundation in India and Africa.
We held our first wine tasting fundraiser in Boise, Idaho, where we shared God’s miraculous work through ILF in Africa and India. We also debuted ILF's new child sponsorship platform and shared life-changing stories of God’s holistic and compassionate work through this small organization. 
We are deeply thankful to all who attended, encouraged, and supported us during this event, with a special thanks to Spring House at the Merc and Dry Creek Community Church. 100% of the proceeds will go toward funding ILF-sponsored projects in 2025.

According to UNICEF, West and Central Africa have the highest prevalence of child marriage in the world, with Sierra Leone being home to over 800,000 child brides.

When the ILF team discovered child marriages in the communities we serve, we took immediate, prayerful action:

• We partnered with the local police’s Family Support Unit (FSU) to rescue the children.
• We conducted multiple community-wide trainings on child health and safety, and will continue these quarterly to prevent future child marriages.
• Our Board of Directors created an audio series and a training manual for ILF staff and community leaders, addressing the spiritual, social, and physical implications of child marriage.

Holistic ministry aims to address the real, tangible issues facing communities through a biblical, Christ-honoring approach.  By addressing child marriage through God's design for marriage, we've seen a powerful transformation in Sierra Leone in regard to the sensitive and difficult practice of child marriage.

Ten graduates from our 18-month program could return to their villages and train 10 or more others. Within five years, a single village could be transformed into a hub of skilled workers, ready to contribute to their community's development!

By investing in people both spiritually and vocationally, we hope to create a sustainable and Christ centered environment where communities can experience long-term growth, reach their full potential. 

As the Spring's melody fills the air – birdsong, budding trees, and blooming flowers, it recites a symphony of renewal, a whisper of hope. But for those who believe, Easter brings a deeper joy, a promise that echoes even louder in our hearts.

For us at ILF, and the communities we serve in Sierra Leone and India, that deeper joy has brought clean water, food, and education to communities in Sierra Leone. It has brought Beauty From Ashes and hope to the widows and the hopeless in India. Witnessing the transformative power of hope in the faces we serve fuels our passion at ILF. His resurrection has been a beacon, a testament to the power of love and the promise of eternal life.

1 Peter 1:3 reminds us, "He has caused us to be born again to a living hope."
 Because of Jesus, even in the face of hardship, we can hold onto that hope.

Our Widows Empowerment Ministry in India has connected with over 50 widows. Exciting update! We're renaming it 'Beauty for Ashes' from Isaiah 61:3, “the Lord freely gives beauty for ashes,” and expanding to assist another 50 widows starting in March. This transformative program aims to instill hope, restoration, and empowerment, enabling widows to embrace a brighter future through the hope found in Jesus Christ.

In line with our 2024 prayer, we've provided one free daily meal for each of our 300 students—200 in Sierra Leone and 100 in India. Praise the Lord! We've reached this goal, providing 1500 free meals weekly (up from 900). This achievement reflects our dedication to nourishing bodies, minds, and spirits, creating an environment where every student can thrive.

These accomplishments wouldn't have been possible without you. Together, we're illuminating lives with the hope of Jesus. As we celebrate these victories, we're grateful for every member of the ILF family. Your commitment propels our mission forward, and we eagerly anticipate reaching even greater heights with your continued support.

Viet Nyugen, ILF’s newest Board Member, has been a volunteer on two trips since 2019 and had played a significant role in the development of ILF FC. He has been a source of encouragement to ILF teams and we are excited to see his wisdom, humility and joy continue to empower those served by ILF!

3000 Meals
This holiday season, our goal is to raise $9000 to provide 3000 meals ($3 per meal) to children in need. We are almost halfway! If you would like to fill a hungry belly, follow the ink below:

Once per year, the ILF board is joined by volunteers on a trip to Sierra Leone. This month, five ILF supporters gave of their time, resources, and talents to love on the communities served by ILF programs. The impact and blessing of these individuals on the people of Sierra Leone was incredible and unquantifiable, but here are some of the highlights:

Problem: Our community in India needs a sustainable means to combat poverty and promote self-reliance in a gospel centered environment.

Context: Dairy farming is a vital resource in Indian agriculture. However, individual farmers face fundamental challenges that restrict holistic growth and empowerment.

Holistic Ministry: ILF’s holistic vision in ministry has always been focused on equipping local leadership and community participation.

Solution: ILF embarked upon a new project in Southern India to start a diary farm in Kakinada region. We purchased 5 buffalos and are aiming to add 50 more to the herd by the end of year 2025. This project, with grace of God, will combat poverty by providing sustainable income and food over 350 families.

ILF provided the seed to plant this project. However, we pray that the income generated by the farm will finance the acquisition of additional buffalo in the upcoming years.

This is what holistic ministry is all about: putting God’s love into action to help people in need.

Our ILF soccer team has been volunteering in the community to earn cleats. Will you help us reward their efforts?

In 2019, the ILF Football Club was created to give kids a fun and safe environment to build soccer and life skills. ILF FC is now 80 players and 5 volunteer coaches strong, most of which play barefoot or in sandals!

Players also participate in the ILF FC Community Service Project. This gives the players the chance to give back to their villages as well as earn a pair of soccer cleats for their service! ILF FC youth and coaches have taken one day per week to clean their community and school grounds, help mentor younger students, and assist their teachers in the classroom.

This October, the entire ILF Board will travel to Mankneh, Sierra Leone with a small team of volunteers. We plan to bring a pair of cleats for each of our players and coaches to honor their commitment to serving their community.

Our goal is to raise $2,000 to cover the expense of these cleats.
