Happy Easter

Spring is in the air!  The weather is improving, trees are budding, flowers are blooming, and birds are beginning to sing their sweet songs!  As we move into Spring the evidence of new life is everywhere we look.

Spring is especially exciting for Sierra Leoneans.  During the months of March and April, rice seeds are planted that will be harvested in the Fall.  As we have shared in the past, rice is a staple food in Sierra Leone and is so important in addressing the food insecurity that faces 40% of the Sierra Leonean population.

In 2016, the ILF team felt the Lord was leading us to develop a local farming program to address food insecurity in the villages we serve.  The villages had access to land, but this land was overgrown and needed to be worked to make it suitable for growing rice.  After much prayer and planning, ILF began their Sustainable Farming program in the Spring of 2017. Although the learning curve was steep and the scope daunting, the villages came together and by the grace of God, the land that was once of little use to local villages, became fields full of new life and nourishment for the communities we serve.  We are happy to share that as of this year, the ILF Sustainable Farming Program works with more than 50 farming families to farm nearly 200 acres of fields.
Luke 1:37 (ESV) “For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Just as the Spring season represents new life in the rice fields of Sierra Leone, Spring also reminds us of our new life in Jesus Christ and the hope that He brings.  This coming Sunday, ILF and Christians from all over the world will celebrate Easter.  During Easter we remember that Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross for the sins of humanity, but on the third day was resurrected from the grave.  Jesus’ victory over the sins of humanity was also a victory over death!  That by simply accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we can have eternal life with Him in heaven.  Now that is something to celebrate!
1 Peter 1:3 (ESV) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”

All of us at Impact a Life Foundation want to thank each of you for your continued support.  We pray that this Easter season will be one of hope and joy for you and your loved ones!

ILF Holistic Ministry

This month:

Pursuing Unity in Ministry

Pursuing Unity in Ministry (hands together)

Maintaining and promoting unity is among the most important pillars of ILF ministry. We aim to work alongside all through whom God is at work. To do that, we are to seek unity through attracting the presence of God. As we draw near to God, He draws near to us. We are to follow Jesus as the model and power of Christian unity, because Imitating Jesus’ unparalleled humility will bring unparalleled unity in our ministry.  Click here to read more.

ILF’s holistic ministry entails more than sponsoring a program. It goes beyond short-term, relief-oriented aid. It is a promise of hope, it is a confirmation of God’s grace. Thank you for helping us to make an impact.
